Also known as the Warm Springs area, the East End is Boise's first community. It contains historic mansions, the Old Idaho Penitentiary, the Idaho Botanical Gardens, Table Rock, the Natatorium Pool, and the MK Nature Center. Warm Springs Avenue acts as a direct line to downtown, connecting newer communities such as Harris Ranch and River Heights in the Barbara Valley.
