Giving Back to the Boise Community
At Lysi Bishop Real Estate, one of our greatest passions is service. We are passionate about offering extraordinary service to our clients, and we are dedicated to serving our neighbors and communities as well. It is our commitment year-round, but the holiday season is a wonderful time to do a little extra and commit to doing more in the new year. There is often an uptick of giving during the holidays, but the need for donations and volunteering doesn’t end once the presents are unwrapped and meals have been served.
With this in mind, we wanted to highlight some of our favorite organizations doing important work in Boise and beyond. We invite you to join us in finding meaningful ways to give back. Check out the websites for the agencies linked below—each one has wonderful resources for getting involved and supporting their cause.
-
WCA Boise - The Women’s & Children’s Alliance of Boise has been serving our area for over 40 years, providing help to those healing from domestic violence and sexual assault. Their vision is to foster a community where individuals safely and healthily thrive. They accept donations, encourage corporate partnerships, and have an Amazon wish list linked on their website to make giving easy.
-
Treasure Valley YMCA - David Duro, President and CEO, says it best. “When you choose to support the Y, you make an investment in your community at large… When you give to the Y, you are actively improving the health of our community.” The YMCA provides programming for all ages and creates inclusive spaces where people of all abilities can access the support they need. Their mission is to strengthen the foundations of the Treasure Valley by developing successful youth, engaging people in healthy living, and instilling a commitment to social responsibility. When you give to the Y, you help ensure everyone has access to the Y’s life-changing programs and services. Donate monetarily or read more about volunteer opportunities on their website.
-
Faces of Hope - This dedicated team supports individuals and families by providing free crisis intervention services. They help with legal aid, counseling, referrals to community resources, and emergency assistance with basic necessities. They accept many in-kind donations and have other creative ways for you to give back, including options to sign up as a holiday helper or donate beads for friendship bracelets they make and hand out to clients.
-
The Idaho Foodbank - In addition to distributing food through their community partner network, they support hunger relief and educational programs that promote healthy families and communities. Your support will go toward reducing hunger and improving the lives of struggling working parents, children, and seniors. Contribute to their cause by volunteering your time, supporting their food drives, or donating monetarily. Every $5 you give can provide up to 15 meals to hungry Idahoans.
-
City of Boise - What better way to give back and get involved than volunteering with the City of Boise?! Join the amazing staff at the zoo, make a difference helping at Dick Eardley Senior Center, or even become more involved with the preservation of our foothills and green spaces—there are some incredible opportunities. Join your neighbors and community members, get outside, and invest in improving our beautiful city!
