From 4th of July parades to fairs and rodeos, there is plenty of local excitement to be found. Dive into our blog to discover the best events that will make your July truly memorable!   10 Years of 39 Rooms: A Film Festival at The Modern Hotel + Bar: July 3rd-9th Rooms has been playing on Channel 39 in The Modern’s rooms for 10 years! This in-room short film festival features a showcase of the best new short films from all over the world, playing in a continuous loop in each of the 39 rooms of Boise’s beloved boutique hotel. Photo Credit to The Modern Hotel & Bar   Idaho 4th of July Parade: Thursday, July 4th Celebrate our Nation's birth in Idaho's Capital City! Downtown Boise is hosting a parade that will travel along Jefferson and Bannock streets, right in front of the State Capitol. The parade will take place from 10:00 AM  to 11:30 AM, with plenty of patriotic floats to celebrate our nation. This event is an awesome way to come together as a community, and the whole family will surely enjoy the excitement.  Photo Credit to Boise 4th   Wine Down Nampa: Wednesday, July 10th Looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend a July evening? Check out the 2nd annual Wine Down Nampa Summer Event Series at the Nampa Civic Center! This free event takes place on July 10 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and offers live music, wine tasting from local wineries, outdoor games, delicious food, and unique items from local vendors. Bring your folding chairs and blankets to relax in the beautiful scenery of the Civic Center Garden. Photo credit to Unsplash   Snake River Stampede: July 16th-20th The Snake River Stampede is returning to Nampa and is one of the top 10 professional rodeos in the nation! This thrilling event features the classic rodeo events of bull riding, barrel racing, and team roping, as well as exciting performances (in the past, this has included a monkey dressed as a cowboy riding a dog!). Tickets can be purchased here and often sell out, so make sure to get them while you can! Photo credit to Kevin Miller   Canyon County Fair: July 25th-27th Each night features a live concert from a country artist, with headliners Chris Janson, Gary Allen, and Telsa. The fair itself has plenty of entertaining rides, delicious food, and educational exhibits. Fair admission starts at $4 per person, with evening concert tickets sold separately. Photo credit to Unsplash   San Inazio Basque Festival: July 26th-28th Boise has the largest population of Basque people living outside of Basque Country. Founded in 1949, the Basque Center is a cultural landmark in Downtown Boise. Every year, San Inazio Basque Festival celebrates the vibrant heritage of the Basque with food, dancing, traditional games, and more. Located on the Basque Block on Grove St between 6th and Capitol Streets. Photo credit to the Idaho Statesman   Alive After 5 Free Concert Series: All Month Long on Wednesdays The Grove in Downtown Boise is a buzz with live music every Wednesday after 5pm. Hosting bands from across the country, this concert series is a fantastic way to enjoy the summer evenings with the splash pad and local vendors serving food and drinks. This is a family-friendly event and free to attend. Photo credit to Jerric Chong   WalkAbout Boise Historic Walking Tour: All Month Long on Saturdays Take to the streets on foot and join Preservation Idaho every Saturday in downtown Boise for an approximately 90-minute guided walking tour through 150 years of history and architecture. This is the perfect opportunity to learn what makes Boise special and gain intimate knowledge of The City of Trees. Photo credit to Boise Department of Arts & History   Yoga on the Mountain at Bogus Basin: All Month Long on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays Bogus Basin hosts Yoga on the Mountain, a FREE yoga class right at the bottom of the ski lifts, on Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday mornings all summer. No need to sign up, just show up and bring a yoga mat (or a blanket/towel if you don’t have one) and get ready to get your zen on! From family-friendly celebrations to fireworks displays and parades, the Treasure Valley has something for everyone this Independence Day.   Places to see fireworks this 4th of July: Photo credit to Unsplash Ann Morrison Park in Boise. Spend your 4th of July evening at Ann Morrison Park, where a breathtaking fireworks show will light up the sky, perfectly synced to music on 107.1 Hank FM. The fireworks are set to begin around 10:15 PM (dusk), but the festivities kick off at 6 :00 PM and include a variety of food and drink vendors on-site.   Storey Park in Meridian. Starting at 4:00 PM in Storey Park, food trucks will be on-site, offering a variety of snacks and tasty local cuisine. The fireworks display will launch from the back (east side) of the Meridian Speedway at dusk, around 10:20 PM. Come enjoy a memorable evening with your community and celebrate Independence Day in Meridian!   Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell. Indian Creek Fun on the 4th is a vibrant community celebration of Independence Day held at Indian Creek Plaza. Enjoy family-friendly activities like splash pads, a dunk tank, and a foam pit complete with a foam cannon. Local vendors offering kids' services, activities, and delicious food will be on-site, creating a festive atmosphere to celebrate the USA. Fun starts from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM!   Brundage Mountain in McCall. The 4th of July Music Festival at Brundage starts the day with live music at 10:15am. Enjoy free performances from Spencer Batt, Corn Mash, and Lucky Tongue in a scenic alpine amphitheater and Smoky's deck plaza. Food and drinks are available. Plus, kick off the morning with the 4th of July Cat Track 10k/5k race for extra fun.   Kuna Square in Kuna. Join the community for a day filled with fun, food, and fireworks in Kuna! From 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at Kuna Square's Greenbelt Area behind City Hall, there will be food trucks, live music, drinks, and a fireworks display. There's no entry fee or tickets needed, making it easy for everyone to join in the festivities.   Brothers Park in Caldwell. At dusk on the 4th, Brothers Park will be hosting a 4th of July celebration, including food trucks and a beautiful fireworks display. What makes this museum special is the collections of uniforms, photos, medals, gear, and written narratives about the wars donated by family members of local veterans. The Warhawk Museum is going to be open on Father’s Day and offering free admission to fathers. This activity is perfect for the whole family with plenty of vintage planes for kids to ooo and ahh over, and interesting information for adults to learn more about our local and national history.
