Here’s a comprehensive list of open-air markets in the Treasure Valley: Capital City Public Market Credit: Capital City Public Market on Facebook The Capital City Public Market is Idaho’s largest outdoor market and is hosted right in the middle of Downtown Boise. Since 1994, dozens of vendors from all around the region have come to showcase their fresh products and arts. The variety of goods ranges from freshly-picked produce to hand-carved wood sculptures. This market is perfect for a morning outing, where you can savor the flavors of Idaho and purchase locally-made gifts all in one area. Location: The Grove Plaza, 827 W Main St, Boise Dates: Every Saturday April - December Time: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm Boise Farmers Market Credit:The Boise Farmers Market The Boise Farmers Market is a food-centric and agricultural based event hosting dozens of local farms, ranches, and other food artisans. You can’t get fresher than this, with goods picked and packaged nearby. This market is perfect for prepping gourmet meals with unique ingredients, and you can have peace of mind knowing where your food comes from. Location: 1500 Shoreline Drive, Boise Dates: Every Saturday April - October, Drive-Thru shopping Tues-Wed with pickup on Saturdays Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Eagle Saturday Market Credit: The Eagle Saturday Market on Facebook Located in the heart of downtown Eagle, this quaint and extra charming outdoor market has a classic small town feel. This market is centered around handmade goods with specialty foods, fresh produce, and live music.. making it a great activity for the whole family. Location: Heritage Park, 185 E State Street, Eagle Dates: Every Saturday May 6 - October Time: 9 am - 2 pm *No market on 7/1 & 7/8 Meridian Main Street Market Credit: idahonews.com Meridian Main Street Market (formerly called the Meridian Youth Farmers Market) is a community event featuring local farmers, artisans, craters, and youth. Hosted on Main Street, this darling event feels like a trip to yesteryear alongside the historic buildings in downtown Meridian. Location: 33 E. Broadway Avenue, Meridian Dates: Every Saturday April 15 - October Time: 9 am - 1 pm Nampa Farmers Market Credit: Nampa Farmers Market Another small-town feel market is found in historic downtown Nampa. Local vendors, farmers, and artisans come together to provide goods. This direct to consumer market offers the freshest produce and foods. Location: Historic Downtown Nampa in Lloyd Square Park, 13th and Front St, Nampa Dates: Every Saturday April 1 - October Time: 9 am - 1 pm Farm to Fork Farmers Market Credit: cityofcaldwell.org Downtown Caldwell hosts a weekly Music on the Creek series in Indian Creek Plaza. In conjunction with live music, the Farm to Fork Farmers Market provides locally grown produce and locally made gifts right from the vendor. 6 Dog Parks in the Treasure Valley
Did you know that Idaho is in the top 3 states for pet ownership? That’s right, 70% of Idahoans own a pet, and 33.3% own a dog. After a long winter here in the Treasure Valley, we and our furry friends are itching to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. Fortunately, Boise and the surrounding area are dog-friendly cities, with multiple parks to take your pup for outdoor play and exercise. Here are 7 popular dog parks throughout the Treasure Valley. 1. Morris Hill Park 10 N Roosevelt Street, Boise Located on the Boise Bench, this 1-acre fenced area has two sections for dogs, a shelter with picnic tables, and adorable agility course obstacles. The dog park portion is wood-chipped. The surrounding park has plenty of grassy areas, a playground, and picnic shelters. Credit: City of Boise 2. Fort Boise Dog Park 733 Mountain Cove Road, Boise Situated in northeast Boise just north of downtown, Fort Boise is well known for its many hiking and biking trails and the infamous military reserve cemetery dating back to 1906. Recent upgrades to the area include a new fenced-in dog park, with chat surface material. The area also provides controlled dog off-leash trails that wind up into the foothills, giving you and your dog plenty of room to run! Credit: City of Boise 3. Together Treasure Valley Dog Island 3417 Crescent Rim Dr, Boise One of Boise’s most popular fenced-in dog parks, this 5.4 acre dog park is located in the southwest corner of Ann Morrison Park. Surrounded by waterways fed from the nearby Boise River, this park is a perfect fit for any water-loving pooches! Ducks and geese are abundant in the water and surrounding park. This park is a favorite for the sprawling grass, tree cover, large “shy/small dog” enclosure, and picnic shelters. Amity Dog Park 2nd Street S and E Amity Avenue, Nampa This large dog park features 6-acres of open grass and graveled play areas for people and pets to interact with each other. Featuring a swimming pond and dock for dogs, drinking fountains for people and dogs, shade shelters, a ‘shy/small dog’ enclosure, trees, walking paths, and benches this Nampa dog park just about has it all! Honorable Mention: Harrison Hollow Off-Leash Trails 2899 N Harrison Hollow Ln, Boise One of the most popular dog off-leash areas in Boise, Harrison Hollow provides miles of hiking for you and your furry friend with incredible city views.
